Olympic Flame Origins
The Ancient Greeks started the idea of having an Olympic flame. In Olympia a flame is lit by the sun's rays and stays alight until the games have ended. The flame showed the athletes’ fight to win.
Today the flame tell us about the light of the spirit, knowledge and life. The torch is still lit in Olympia in Greece, then it is carried by a relay team, until it gets to the city of the games. There, the cauldron will be lit and stay alight until the closing ceremony.
